2026 PBKNCA Grad Scholarship Winners Announced

Three UC Davis graduate students were selected to receive 2026 Phi Beta Kappa Northern California Association (PBKNCA) scholarships this spring. The scholarship recipients are PhD students Moreen Akomea-Ampeh, Sylvana Finn and Jacob Steenis. The $10,000 scholarships are awarded annually to graduate students who were elected to Phi Beta Kappa as undergraduates and now attend a northern California college or university that has a Phi Beta Kappa chapter.

UC Davis graduate students who are members of Phi Beta Kappa are encouraged to apply for a $10,000 scholarship from the Phi Beta Kappa of Northern California Association (PBKNCA). Each year PBKNCA offers 10-12 awards.

2025 PBKNCA Grad Scholarship Winners Announced

Two UC Davis graduate students were selected to receive 2025 Phi Beta Kappa - Northern California Association (PBKNCA) scholarships this spring. The scholarship recipients are Katarina Michel, a graduate student in geography, and Sophia Simon, an Ecology graduate student. The $10,000 scholarships are awarded annually to graduate students who were elected to Phi Beta Kappa as undergraduates and now attend a northern California college or university that has a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.

2024 PBKNCA Grad Scholarship Winners Announced

Three graduate students in the Department of History have been selected to receive Phi Beta Kappa - Northern California Association (PBKNCA) scholarships in 2024. This is the first time that three students from one department have received the award, and the first time history students have received the award. Taylor Black, Louise Brandt and Yutong Zhang are the three 2024 awardees. The $10,000 scholarships are awarded annually.

Taylor Black is in the fifth year of the history Ph.D. and was inducted into PBK at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

PBKNCA offers several awards each year. Our campus has had strong representation since the awards were created, with students from a wide range of disciplines receiving awards.
